A few useful details make the first conversation easier.

You can tell me:

what the website or project is;
whether it already exists;
what is currently not working or what needs to change;
whether there is a deadline;
whether you are contacting me directly for your business or on behalf of an agency.

If some of that is still unclear, that is fine too. Part of the first step is usually figuring out what the project actually needs.
